Registered Practitioners

At the present time, the following registered practitioner designations are available from EBNMP™ Canada Association.

RAP® - Registered Acupuncture Practitioner®

Practitioners who provide treatment utilizing Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture to diagnose and treat injuries, diseases and disorders of patients.

All EBNMP™ Canada Association RAP® members  adhere to the World Health Organization's Guidelines on Basic Training and Safety in Acupuncture.

Scope of Practice:
The stimulation of access points on the surface of the skin by insertion of needles to heal diseases, normalize physiological functions and aid with pain management.

  • Assessment Techniques: TCM Theory based on Ying - Yang & the five phases, function of Qi, Blood, Mind, Essence & Body Fluids (inter-relationship), Physiological & Pathological manifestations of Zang-fu (inter-relationship), Meridians & Collaterals (distribution & functions), the Eight Differentiations (Cause & Mechanisms of Illness).

  • Treatment Techniques: Needling / Moxibustion / Cupping / Electro-acupuncture / Gua Sha / Tuina

  • Acupuncture practice does not include Physical therapy / Manipulative techniques / Prescribing of proprietary or pharmaceutical drugs

Educational requirements:
Graduate of a 2700 hr diploma program from an accredited college including a minimum of 1000 hrs of practical / clinical internship based on TCM theory work.

Please Note: RAP® registration is not open to practitioners in the Province of Ontario

RNP® - Registered Naturotherapy Practitioner®

A multidisciplinary group of practitioners who utilize complementary therapies that make use of natural healing agents in the treatment of health conditions.

Scope of Practice:

The promotion of health and wellness by a multidisciplinary group of practitioners who utilize complementary therapies that make use of natural healing agents in the treatment of health conditions.

  • Nutrition & Allergy Elimination therapy

  • Electro-Homeopathy

  • Physical Therapy to include Applied Kinesiology

  • Energy Therapy & Eastern Meditative Arts

Educational requirements:

Graduate of a 2500 hr diploma program from an accredited college in any of the aforementioned modalities with a minimum of 500 hrs of practical and clinical internship.

RLMP® - Registered Lifestyle Management Practitioner®

Practitioners who provide lifestyle education and stress management techniques designed to promote positive lifestyle and behavior changes and provide coaching on holistic life skills.

Scope of Practice:

Lifestyle education and stress management techniques designed to promote positive lifestyle and behaviour changes.

  • Coaching on holistic life skills

  • Implementation of structured action-oriented programs for stress management, designed to reduce health risks and promote healthy behaviors

Educational requirements:

Graduate of a 1500 hr diploma program from an accredited college with a minimum of 500 hrs of practical internship.

RNMP® - Registered Nutritional Medicine Practitioner®

Practitioners who evaluate the nutritional status of clients, provide nutritional counseling, utilize specific dietary advice and recommend nutritional supplements.

Scope of Practice:

Evaluation of nutritional status and recommendation of dietary advice and nutritional supplements to promote and maintain health and wellness.

  • Nutrition

  • Botanical and Herbal Remedies

Educational requirements:

Graduate of a 1500 hr diploma program from an accredited Nutrition curriculum with a minimum of 500 hrs of practical internship.

 

 

Registration Requirements:

  • You must include copies of all relevant certificates / diplomas / etc. or curriculum vitae.
  • If your documents are not in English or French, you must provide an officially translated version along with a copy of the original attached.
  • Provide proof of Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions) Insurance (can be applied for after joining EBNMP™ Canada Association).

Designation requirements can be fulfilled by a combination of formal training, experience and / or a challenge examination set by EBNMP™ Canada Association.

EBNMP™ Canada Association reserves the right to recommend further upgrading, or to deny registration to any applicant. The criteria for registration will be reviewed each year.
